Officially launched a year and a half ago, the European Automotive Cluster (Pôle automobile européen, PAE) aims to set up and develop cooperation between the automotive clusters of the Greater Region – including the Luxembourg AutoMobility Cluster managed by Luxinnovation – in order to promote the internationalisation of their approximately 800 member organisations.
As part of its missions, PAE is launching, at the end of this year, an online study to analyse existing gaps between industry’s needs for skills and the training offered by schools, universities and vocational training centres.
Four themes have been selected:
- Lighter materials and recycling
- Energy transition and new motorisation
- Autonomous and connected driving
- Industry 4.0
The objective is to gather the real skills in the Greater Region and to identify training needs.
Interested and concerned organisations – companies as well as players in education and training – are invited to give their opinion (the questionnaire takes about 20 minutes to complete).
The results of the survey will be available on the EAP website in the first half of 2021.
“This initiative is in line with one of the key missions of PAE, which is to strengthen the visibility and competitiveness of professionals in the automotive industry in the Greater Region,” explains Anthony Auert, manager of the Luxembourg AutoMobility Cluster. “It is also the role of our cluster, at Luxinnovation, to contribute to this objective, which is essential, not only for the players themselves, but for the economy as a whole.”
“Tomorrow in Motion” Forum
PAE is also actively preparing the flagship event of the first half of 2021: the Forum “Tomorrow in Motion – The Greater Region on the road to innovative mobility! “which will take place in Metz on 15 and 16 June.
This will be the first edition of this cross-border event, which will provide an opportunity to discuss major issues such as the energy and digital transitions, which today are essential topics for the automotive industry and the mobility of tomorrow.
The programme will include presentations, round tables, stands, B2B meetings, tests, company visits and so on. It will provide a wide range of opportunities to discover – and test – the latest innovations on the mobility and automotive industry market, as well as to initiate contacts with industrialists and representatives of the Greater Region and create cross-border business opportunities.
“The ‘Tomorrow in motion’ forum is in line with the ‘Automotive Day’ that we have been organising for several years. These events are very much appreciated by companies because they not only allow them to keep abreast of the latest trends, but also to establish new business relationships with colleagues from the Greater Region,” Anthony Auert concludes.
