Grevenmacher is a comprehensive fabrication facility capable of making standard and advanced automotive glazing products including new lightweight glass roof systems. The plant is located in Western Europe to serve top customers including Bentley, BOS, BMW, Daimler, Lamborghini, Magna, Mercedes, PSA, Tata, Volkswagen and Webasto.

The new production line Laminating Line 5 replaces older equipment and has been put in place in order to meet the needs of Carlex’s clients, who constantly evolve as new innovations in automotive design and vehicle geometry as well as new technologies are implemented. While windscreens previously were cut and shaped from rectangular glass plates that were heated to 600°C and pressed to obtain the desired shape, the new production line works according to a completely different procedure: the External Press Bending system, which has proven to be much more efficient. In addition to improved energy efficiency, the system reduces production waste and thus allows the company to achieve real savings.

Part of the Central Glass group headquartered in Tokyo, Carlex currently has 530 employees in Luxembourg.
