FEDIL Innovation AwardsAbout twenty files were submitted to the members of the jury, divided into four categories.

The Award for Innovation in the category “Process” was presented to Goodyear for the “Vacuum Cure Technology” project. It rewards the development of a new mold technology for the vulcanisation of vacuum tires, which significantly improves the visual appearance of the tire while reducing mold manufacturing and maintenance costs.

In the “Product Engineering” category, the prize went to Cebi Luxembourg for its “Blow-by Heater” project: an electrically heated component used to remove ice that may form in a passage of the engine block. In the end, this heater is lighter, more environmentally friendly and more adaptable, all with fewer components.

The company Virelux Inspection Systems and its project “Optifrag – Automatic control of fragmentation of automotive glazing” was awarded the prize in the “SME” category. It is a revolutionary method, allowing automated counting – thanks to an optical control solution – fragments resulting from destructive tests performed on automotive glazing. Lastly, the DocUnify “Start-up” Innovation Award was presented to the “AdminTech” project, which offers a simple, high-performance “Made in Luxembourg” digital platform for businesses wishing to enter the industry and get a foothold in secure collaborative projects. Docunify makes it easy to create, store, edit, transfer, exchange and sign documents from a computer, tablet or smartphone.
