Stronger together
Born from the desire of Luxembourg’s industry to develop skills in the field of composites, Composite Industry Luxembourg (CIL), hosted by Luxinnovation, responds to a need originating from companies in the materials sector. CIL aims to strengthen the development of new innovative concepts.
Fit 4 Start goes into space
For the first time since its launch in 2015, the acceleration programme for innovative companies managed by Luxinnovation offers tailor-made support to five start-ups active in the space sector. The selected companies will be able to access Earth observation data provided by the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) data centre.

European Innovation Council to invest in high potential breakthrough innovation
Innovators have a harder time finding risk-willing growth capital in Europe than in the US or in Asia. In order to alleviate this problem and pave the way for breakthrough and disruptive innovation, the European Innovation Council (EIC) has been set up as a new instrument aimed at providing substantial financial support to innovative researchers and companies. On 27 June 2019, Luxinnovation hosted an event where the EIC presented its new funding measures to Luxembourg stakeholders.
ICT and creative industries joining forces
On Tuesday 9 July, KPMG hosted at its offices in Kirchberg the latest edition of the “Present Yourself”, organised as a breakfast meeting by the Luxembourg ICT Cluster A networking event enriched, this time, by the presence of players from the creative industry, in order to broaden each other’s horizons.
Design and carpentry with a musical touch
An innovative start-up; an inspired design office; a productive carpenter… this is the composition of an efficient trio that has pioneered a joint project bringing together the worlds of music and design, between Paris and Luxembourg.
Building the future
General construction company Steffen Holzbau specialises in innovative building materials and energy efficient and sustainable buildings. Within its R&D project “Holz-Beton-Verbundträger”, the company has developed composite beams combining the virtues of wood and concrete.
European Defence Industrial Development Programme
The European Commission launched Thursday, April 4 16 calls for proposals for the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP) under the EU budget for 2019-2020.
